I know what computers are connected to my network, I know what hardware components these computers feature, and I know what software is installed on these computers – all thanks to the ClearApps-developed Network Inventory Advisor. Thanks to this useful tool I can conveniently keep an inventory of all the computers on my network. It’s this sort of functionality that makes Network Inventory Advisor a very useful tool for any admin or manager.

Network Inventory Advisor works with Microsoft’s Windows operating system and with Apple’s Mac OS X.
Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 are supported at the time of writing this.
All OS X versions from OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard onward are supported at the time of writing this.

A wizard will help you install Network Inventory Advisor on a Windows-powered computer. Once the installation process completes and you launch Network Inventory Advisor for the first time, a wizard will help you pre-configure and optimize Network Inventory Advisor for better performance. The wizard will also help you scan your network, find all the computers that are connected to it, and collect useful information about them.

After that you will be presented with Network Inventory Advisor’s interface – a ribbon interface that provides support for lots of languages (English, Russian, French, and more). If you find that the ribbon gets in the way, open the Settings menu and check “show minimized ribbon.” Ribbon or not, I found the interface to be easy to navigate. I liked that the interface very nicely presents all the info Network Inventory Advisor collects.

And the nice thing is that Network Inventory Advisor collects lots of info. Select a computer and you will get to see its name, the workgroup it is part of, the computer’s MAC and IP address, what type of processor powers the computer, how much RAM the computer has, how much free storage space is left on its hard disk(s), what operating system is installed on the computer, what software programs are installed on the computer, the license keys for the software programs that are installed on the computer, and more.

Network Inventory Advisor is not free, it is only free to try. The trial version is free to use for 30 days. The trial version can’t inventory more than 10 assets. To keep using Network Inventory Advisor once the trial period expires, to be able to inventory more than 10 assets, you will have to purchase a license. The pricing depends on the total amount of nodes you want to audit.

Collect and review lots of information about the PCs that are connected to the network. Efficiently audit and inventory all networked devices with Network Inventory Advisor.

Pros

Network Inventory Advisor is available for Windows and Mac OS X. A wizard will help you install Network Inventory Advisor on your PC; another wizard will help you pre-configure Network Inventory Advisor and scan your network. The ribbon interface is easy to navigate, conveniently presents data, and provides support for multiple languages. Network Inventory Advisor collects lots of info.

Cons

Trial limitations: 30-day trial, 10 assets inventory limit, nag screen.
